Everything you might be wondering before we begin.
When should I book my session?
The earlier, the better—especially for newborns and sessions requiring custom planning.
For newborn sessions, I recommend reaching out during your second trimester whenever possible. We'll reserve space around your due date and finalize the actual session date once your baby arrives.
Maternity sessions are typically photographed between 28–34 weeks, while milestone, cake smash and family sessions can be reserved whenever you're ready to begin planning.
If your baby is already here or you're working with a shorter timeline, please don't assume you've waited too long. Reach out and I'll always see what I can do.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REACH OUT?
Once I receive your inquiry, I'll personally be in touch to learn a little more about your family and what you're hoping to create.
We'll talk through the session options, availability and any questions you have. Once you've chosen your session, a signed agreement and retainer will officially reserve your date.
From there, I'll guide you through the planning so you never have to wonder what comes next.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
You don't have to figure that out alone.
We'll talk through wardrobe, colors and the overall look you'd like for your photographs before your session. I'll help you choose pieces that photograph beautifully together without making everyone look overly matched.
For maternity sessions, you'll also have access to a small collection of studio gowns and fabrics, and professional hair and makeup can be arranged if you'd like the full experience.
The goal is for you to still look like you—just beautifully put together.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY SESSION?
Every collection includes your session planning, my time and experience photographing your family, professional hand-retouching and a curated collection of finished digital photographs.
Depending on the session you choose, additional elements such as wardrobe, props, custom cake-smash designs or artwork may also be included or available.
You'll always know exactly what's included before you reserve your session, so you can choose the experience that feels right for you.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY PHOTOGRAPHS?
Your photographs are carefully selected and finished by hand rather than batch edited or delivered straight from the camera.
Your finished gallery is typically ready within 1–2 weeks after your session.
I'll let you know as soon as everything is ready, and from there you'll be able to choose your favorites based on your collection.
WHAT IF MY BABY OR CHILD DOESN'T COOPERATE?
They don't have to.
Babies need to eat. Toddlers need breaks. Kids sometimes decide they have absolutely no interest in my plans—and that's okay.
I've spent more than a decade photographing babies and children, and sessions are designed with room for feeding, soothing, breaks and real life.
You never need to apologize to me for your child being a child.
CAN PARENTS AND SIBLINGS BE INCLUDED?
Yes. In fact, I encourage it.
These photographs aren't only about documenting what your baby looks like—they're also about preserving what your family looked and felt like during this season.
Depending on the collection you choose, we'll plan parent and sibling portraits as part of your session and I'll help coordinate everyone so the final gallery feels cohesive.
WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD?
Newborn, milestone and studio maternity sessions take place in my private studio in Northlake, Texas, conveniently located near I-35W and FM 407.
Maternity and family sessions may also be photographed outdoors at carefully selected locations throughout the Northlake and surrounding DFW area.
Once we begin planning, I'll help you choose the setting that best fits the photographs you want to create.
