**UPDATE** A new normal after COVID-19, Studio Cleaning Policies

In the last few weeks, we’ve all experienced something that has never been experienced before in any of our lifetimes. The COVID-19 pandemic all hit us in a way that took us all by surprise and we’re figuring out life as we go.

As a photographer, especially one who specializes in working with newborns and pregnant moms, we were hit especially hard by the orders put in place by our state and local governments that forced us to close our doors. Our lives have completely changed from just a few short weeks ago. We went from living a normal everyday life, dropping kids off at school, working with clients, visiting friends, going to church, and running errands to the grocery store to literally being locked in our homes for what has seemed like an eternity.

Our children are experiencing a new norm just like we are and so everyone is adjusting with both positive and negative feelings that we’re all trying to navigate. Who knew we’d get to the point where it would be necessary and life-threatening to go without a facemask to the grocery store??

But here we are, on the brink of returning to “some” sense of normalcy. Our government is taking baby steps (well most of them anyway) towards freedoms we once took for granted. I know we are all looking forward to being amongst our friends, sitting at a restaurant, going to the gym, and most of all getting back to work.

Though I don’t personally know when my photography studio will be able to return to normal operation, I did want to let you know that studio cleanliness has always been a priority at Leslie Christine Photography. Along with typical cleaning practices that I have always implemented with every baby and family, there will be a few new precautions that I will adopt in order to keep myself and your families as safe as possible for the long term.

Studio Cleaning has always been a priority at Leslie Christine Photography

As always, the studio has been cleaned between clients including vacuuming, mopping, wiping down all the equipment and surfaces touched. Fabrics have always been washed and sanitized along with regular washing and sanitizing my hands. These are things that seem like common sense but are very important when working with babies and small children, especially during flu and RSV season.

But now with the COVID-19 pandemic, here are a few extra precautions that will be implemented to help ensure the health and safety of not only myself but all the tiny humans and their families I will be working with.

  1. All newborn sessions will be scheduled with at least 48 hours apart. This gives me a chance to make sure all surfaces are cleaned, sanitized, fabrics washed, floors mopped and anything else to be done before another client comes into the studio.
  2. When a client enters the studio, all hands must be washed and masks are to be worn.
  3. Only immediate family members will be allowed in the studio.
  4. Please do not bring any outside props or outfits to the studio.
  5. When you enter the studio, please remove your shoes immediately.

I know we are all looking forward to getting back to a new normal. Because we don’t know what the future holds, implementing these new policies help me stay in operation as long as possible and provide you with the best newborn and maternity experience as possible.

I will continue to provide you with updates as I get them and I look forward to seeing and working with all of you soon! Should you have any questions please feel free to visit my contact page and fill out the form and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
