Goodness! I can’t believe Emi is already four years old! It seems like yesterday when I first met this sweet, quiet little girl was no more than two. She had big eyes and smile to match and over the last 3 years, I’ve gotten a chance to see this sweet girl begin to blossom into a fun, energetic four year old. I can’t image what she’s gonna be like over the next few years. If she’s anything like her mother, she’s going to be beautiful.
I first met her mom, Diana, through my husband. I was looking for a new hairdresser and she was a client of his. So he gave me her number and I was quick to make an appointment for a touch up for my hair. The first time I met her, I adored her immediately. She knew about my photography because my husband had mentioned I was starting my journey. We decided to trade services.
A few months later, she scheduled Emi’s first session with me at Grapevine’s Botanical Gardens. At first Emi was quiet and reserved. She didn’t warm up to me immediately, so I just let her run around and feel like she was important. She smiled for my camera on a few occassions and I able to capture some of her sweet smiles during our session. But most of the time, she was always curious and enjoying the simple things the garden had to offer.
The next time we got together was to celebrate Emi’s third birthday. She was almost a fourth of July baby, but instead arrived on July 7. Her mama loves to set up a special theme for birthday announcement, so she came prepared with a bright, cheery tea set and a princess gown to match.
This year, Diana created such a sweet, vintage feel for Emi’s fourth birthday complete with a beautiful lace teepee. We ended up photographing her session in an empty lot off a busy road in Euless. It was comical to see us drive around to find the perfect spot, but in the end, I found the perfect spot.
It warmed my heart when she came running to me and gave me the biggest Emi hug she could give. I could tell she was coming into her own and her little personality was blossoming. She was all smiles and loved being in front of the camera. I loved how her images turned out. Diana incorporated some special pieces, including the heart wreath that was used for her hospital door when Emi was born. She also used a gorgeous hand crocheted blanket from Emi’s grandparents. The few items made this birthday so special. I was so excited for how wonderful this session turned out.
I absolutely can’t wait until next year. Diana has never disappointed in her creativity for Emi’s birthday themes. She makes my job so easy and fun. She’s not just my hair stylist, but I consider her a friend and am so blessed that she chose me to capture such milestone moments for her family.
Blessings,
